The rapid integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in educational settings presents both unprecedented opportunities and significant challenges. This keynote addresses the critical importance of ensuring the safety and ethical deployment of AI tools in education. We will explore the principles outlined in the Safe AI in Education Manifesto, analyzing how they can guide stakeholders in applying and creating secure and trustworthy AI applications. Building upon these principles, we introduce an AI safety assessment tool designed to evaluate educational technologies for compliance and risk mitigation. Additionally, we will present a new educational AI tool that exemplifies these safety standards, demonstrating practical implementation of ethical guidelines. Presenting best practices for adopting AI in education responsibly, bridging the gap between ethical frameworks and actionable solutions.
